CHCSS00133 Induction to Disability
A set of skills for supporting the induction of new workers into a variety of roles supporting people with disability.
This skill set is for individuals who are entering the disability sector.
No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this Skill Set at the time of publication.

Units of Competency
This skill set consists of 5 units of competency.
CHCCCS031 Provide individualised support
CHCCCS038 Facilitate the empowerment of people receiving support
CHCCOM005 Communicate and work in health or community services
CHCDIS020 Work effectively in disability support
HLTWHS002 Follow safe work practices for direct client care
Delivery
This course may be delivered through face-to-face, blended, or work-based training. We use a range of assessment methods for this skill set, including:
short answers
projects activities
workplace observation
observation in a simulated workplace.
Duration
This skill set can be completed in up to 6 months, dependent on the student's experience, Credit Transfer (CT) or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Apply for CT or RPL during enrolment.
Pathways
Achievement of these units provides credit towards a range of qualifications in the CHC Community Services Training Package and HLT Health Training Package.

Career Boost: General Training Pathway
The program delivers training to help individuals develop the higher-level skills needed to secure employment, advance their careers, or progress to further education and training to undertake university or tertiary qualifications. It provides more opportunities to upskill and reskill.
Non-Subsidised Fee: $1,452 per student.

Replacement of Testamur/statement of attainment - Hard Copy: $75
Replacement of Testamur/statement of attainment - Digital: $25

J2S Training Solutions does not accept upfront payments of more than $1,500. If a student's fee is more than this amount, the support of a flexible payment plan will be offered to students.
This program is subsidised by the Queensland government, under the Career Boost General Training Pathway Program. The following Student Co-Contribution fees apply, varying based on student eligibility status:
Concession: $125 per skill set or $25 per Unit of Competency
Non-concession: $250 per skill set or $50 per Unit of Competency
Eligibility for Funding
To be eligible for funding, students must be:
A permanent Queensland resident
Aged 15 or older and not currently attending school
An Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen, Australian permanent residents (including humanitarian entrants), or temporary resident with the right visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency
Not currently be enrolled in a Qualification, even if it is on hold or deferred, whether funded by DTET or not (foundation skills qualifications do not count).
Students may be eligible for up to two subsidised skill sets in priority industries or sectors as part of the program.
Locations for delivery of this training are: Brisbane, Gold Coast, Ipswich, Logan - Beaudesert, Moreton Bay - North, Moreton Bay - South, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba, Mackay - Isaac - Whitsunday
Fee exemptions may apply and is conditional on the Government Policy and Funding Arrangements, subject to eligibility. By undertaking and completing this skill set subsidised by the Queensland government, you may only be eligible for up to two subsidised skill sets in priority industries or sectors as part of the program. Disability Worker Screening Check
Blue Card for working with children
Current vaccination records may be required.
New South Wales Work Placement requirements:
National Police Check clearance certificate
NDIS Worker Check (NDISWC)
Working with Children Check (WWCC)
Current vaccination records may be required.
Applications for these clearances are made on an individual basis directly to the relevant government department. Application fees may apply. Students will require access to appropriate technology and internet if the materials are delivered online.
