Certificate III

in Early Childhood

Education & Care

Our very popular CHC30113 – Certificate III in Childhood Education & Care qualification reflects the role of workers in a range of early childhood education settings who work within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard. People who undertake this qualification typically support the implementation of an approved learning framework, and support children’s wellbeing, learning and development. Upon successfully completing this nationally recognised qualification, you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate improved workplace communication skills and working in a team;

  • Identify safe work practices and implement approved learning frameworks; and

  • Understand health, care and development of babies, toddlers and children.


Successful completion of the CHC30113 – Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, may lead to employment opportunities, such as:

  • Early Childhood Teacher;

  • Family Day Care Educator; or

  • Child Care Attendant.

Please note: This course provides skills and knowledge to the industry standard, but does not guarantee a job.


We use a range of assessment methods for this qualification, including:

  • Short answers;

  • Projects;

  • Activities; and

  • Workplace Observation or Observation in a Simulated Workplace.


This training includes a mandatory minimum of 120 hours of industry/work placement.


There are no pre-requisites for this course. However, prior to enrolment, you will be required to provide your:

  • Working with children’s check clearance number;

  • National Police Check clearance certificate;

  • Unique Student Identifier;

  • Photo identification; 

  • Meet the language, literacy and numeracy requirements.


To participate in nationally recognised training you will also need to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). If you do not already have one we will gladly help you to create your own, which you will be able to use for all future training. If you wish our registered training organisation (RTO) to obtain a USI on your behalf, this will need to be indicated on the enrolment form provided. Alternatively, you can create your own USI. This qualification can be completed in twelve months. The volume of learning offered by J2S Training Solutions may vary per student depending on their existing skills and knowledge. More experienced students are likely to complete
the course in a shorter period of time. Duration may vary depending on Credit Transfer [CT] or Recognition of Prior Learning [RPL]. Students can apply for CT or RPL at the time of enrolment.

Delivery of training may take differing forms, including Face-to-Face, Online, Work-based, Blended and Traineeships, dependent on the requirements of the Client or the needs of the cohort.

This training is subsidised by the NSW Government.

  • Exemption: $0

  • Concession: $240

  • First Qualification: $1,600

  • Second Qualification: $1,930

If you are ineligible for government subsidised training, or would rather undertake this course on a fee-for-service (FFS) basis, the cost to undertake this nationally recognised qualification is:

  • $3,600

  • J2S Training Solutions does not accept upfront payments of more than $1,500. If a student’s fee is more than this amount, the support of a flexible payment plan will be offered to students.
