Certificate III
in Food Processing

Our Certificate III in Food processing targets those performing production related roles that require an application of industry specific skills and knowledge including some technical and problem solving ability. This qualification caters for multi-skilled outcomes and roles that include team leader functions within the production environment. Upon successfully completing this nationally recognised qualification, you will be able to:

  • Understand day-to-day food processing and work functions;

  • Identify safe work practices and how to work safely in a food processing environment; and

  • Improve workplace communication skills and work in a team.

CAREER PROSPECTS

Successful completion of the FBP30121 – Certificate III in Food Processing qualification, may lead to employment opportunities, including:

  • Production worker;

  • Packaging worker;

  • Supervisor; or

  • Team Leader.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

There are no formal entry requirements for this course. However, prior to enrolment students are required to provide their Unique Student Identifier and photo identification. Prospective students may be required to complete a language, literacy and numeracy assessment. All requirements are subject to change at any time as per amendments to the Public Health Orders.

HOW DO I CREATE MY USI?

ASSESSMENT

We use a range of assessment methods for this qualification, including:

  • Short answers;

  • Projects;

  • Activities; and

  • Workplace Observation or Observation in a Simulated Workplace.

WORK PLACEMENT

This training program includes a minimum of 38 hours of industry work placement.

DURATION AND MODE

Duration:
This qualification can be completed in twelve months. The volume of learning offered by J2S Training Solutions may vary per student depending on their existing skills and knowledge. More experienced students are likely to complete the course in a shorter period of time. Duration may vary depending on Credit Transfer [CT] or Recognition of Prior Learning [RPL]. Students can apply for CT or RPL at the time of enrolment.


Delivery:
Delivery of training may take differing forms, including Face-to-Face, Work-based, Blended and Traineeships, dependent on the requirements of the Client or the needs of the cohort.

  • FBPOPR3019 - Operate and monitor interrelated processes in a production or packaging system (C)

  • FBPOPR3021 - Apply good manufacturing practice requirements in food processing (C)

  • FBPWHS3001 - Contribute to work health and safety processes (C)

  • FBPPPL3004 - Lead work teams and groups (E)

  • FBPPPL3003 - Participate in improvement processes (E)

  • FBPPPL3006 - Report on workplace performance (E)

  • FBPOPR3004 - Set up a production or packaging line for operation (E)

NSW FEES

This training is subsidised by the NSW Government.

  • Exemption: $0

  • Concession: $240

  • First Qualification: $2,190

  • Second Qualification: $2,620

  • Traineeship: $0

FEE FOR SERVICE

If you are ineligible for government subsidised training, or would rather undertake this course on a fee-for-service (FFS) basis, the cost to undertake this nationally recognised qualification is:

  • $6,000

  • J2S Training Solutions does not accept upfront payments of more than $1,500. If a student’s fee is more than this amount, the support of a flexible payment plan will be offered to students.

  • Deferment Fee (administration charges) $50

  • Replacement of Testamur/ statement of attainment / Qualification Certificate $50

  • Repeat of unit (Third attempt onwards Per unit) $150
